Description
A pulsing, music-responsive vibrator that feeds right into your iPod (or other music players) provides orgasm after orgasm-in stereo and on repeat. The hard, slim plastic transmits vibrations amazingly, so the throb of a slow song turns into foreplay and the thrum of a fast song will send you over the edge. A 44-inch cord plugs your toy into the iPod, iPod Shuffle, Nano and mini, or standard MP3 and CD players-or use it alone like a regular vibrator.

I bought my Ohmibod shortly after it was released because I really liked the idea of using it. I liked the design of it and I liked the function. But then I got it in the mail.
The quality of the vibe is really lacking in pretty much every area, but the Ohmibod was my first vibrator so I really tried not to care. But when I say it lacks in quality, it really does. Although the vibe looks pretty good in the promotional photos, the plastic used reminds me of the type of cheap hard plastic that dollar store toys are made out of.
I didn't use it that often, and when I did, I usually used it with the cap that didn't attach to my iPod. Using the iPod and the vibrator always ended with me in frustration over the mess of wires over my body, and usually during the course of the moving and the grinding, one of the plugs would come loose or whatnot, so it was always very awkward to use.
Today my Ohmibod broke down completely. So now I'm in search of a quality replacement.

Pricier in the store than online ($69 versus $55!), but this is a fun little product. I just got this home and gave it a test drive.
So far? The vibrations and pulses were very pleasurable for me, but I don't think they would have gotten me to orgasm alone. The wand seems designed for vaginal insertion, and the vibrations do stimulate the entire region very nicely, so if that will do for you (or you don't mind a longer wand for your clitoris!), go for it. Adding direct clitoral stimulation as well definitely sent me skyrocketing.
The only other criticism I could make is that, at higher volumes/intensities, the pulsing/vibration could be heard over the music; a little distracting, but definitely something you can overcome.
Tuna and wine doesn't mix.

I too was sent this link as a joke. A friend of mine thought it would be funny to introduce me to (in her opinion) ludicrous notion. When i saw this contraption, I thought this could be something I should invest in. So I went out and purchased the OhmigBod and fell in love with the sensation. I must say that this is a truly magnificent invention. I do agree with my fellow OhMiBod users in saying that the tool is rather noisy, however I found it most enjoyable. It is definitely worth the money I paid.
Great Idea, Fair execution...

I received an OhMiBod for Christmas and have differing opinions towards it.
On the one hand, the idea behind the vibe is excellent. Sure there have been other music-activated vibrators before, but none that were "stick" style instead of using eggs. I vastly prefer the OhMiBod's design to similar vibes on the market.
I found the vibrations to range from "pleasant tickle" to "wow" and while it's not the most powerful vibe in my stable it had more than enough oomph to do the trick.
As my favorite songs tend to on the bass-heavy side, I didn't have any problems matching my musical expectations with the OhMiBod's buzz factor.
On the other hand, the first unit I received was defective, and had to be replaced because the variable speed cap never worked correctly out of the box.
The quality is definitely not up to snuff when compared to offerings from FunFactory, etc... but the OhMiBod isn't terrible either. I too would have prefered actual metal endcaps instead of plastic, and added quality control couldn't hurt. But it's certainly not the worst toy in my chest.
The OhMiBod is fairly loud, to boot. So if discretion is key you might want to skip this one. It has more of a high-pitched whining noise than a low thump, so it's harder to keep quiet under covers.
All in all though, I give it a 4 out of 5 because when you put the headphones on and slide it under the covers, the OhMiBod's shortcomings don't seem to matter much at all.
I was actually surprised at how well it worked because I assumed it was more of a novelty or gimmick than a serious vibe, but it sure got the job done.
I guess I'll end this review with a little tip for OhMiBod owners:
Make sure that your music source, whatever it may be, has the volume correctly optimized. Certain headphones/players require different levels of volume and the OhMiBod is supposedly made to work best with iPods at 50% volume level. Because my headphones are extra powerful, and my mp3s have been optimized at a different level, I found optimum success with the OhMiBod at around 25%-30% volume. You might have to fiddle around with your specific music source until you find the sweet spot.
